WHAT IS THE ‘COSTPOINT MIGRATION’ AND WHY IS IT NECESSARY?

Currently, Katmai hosts its Costpoint/Timekeeping system “on premises,” which means that it’s hosted on our local servers.  Starting May 15th, 2023, Costpoint will be hosted “in the cloud” on Deltek servers.  This is referred to as “the Costpoint move” or “the Costpoint migration” (or you might have even heard it referred to as the “SAAS Migration”—which is a Deltek term).   The move is necessary to help us comply with certain cybersecurity requirements that Katmai needs to satisfy in order to continue to bid on DOD contracts.

WHEN WILL THE MOVE TAKE PLACE?

The move will take place Friday, May 12, 2023, 5:00 p.m. EST through Monday, May 15, 2023, 1:00 a.m. EST. The IT department will send notifications when the migration starts, and when the migration is complete.

WILL THE MOVE INVOLVE ANY TIME WHEN I’M NOT ABLE TO ACCESS THE SYSTEM?

Yes.  Costpoint & Timesheets will be offline from Friday, May 12, 2023, 5:00 p.m. EST through Monday, May 15, 2023, 1:00 a.m. EST.

WILL THE MOVE REQUIRE ME TO USE A NEW URL TO ACCESS COSTPOINT / TIMEKEEPING?

Yes.  The most important change related to this move is that AFTER May 12th , you will have to access Costpoint/Timekeeping from a new URL.  That new URL will be

https://cp-katmai.prd.mydeltekgcc.com/CPWeb .  Because this is not an address that is easily memorized, we encourage you to bookmark it.

WILL THE MOVE REQUIRE ME TO USE A NEW URL TO ACCESS COSTPOINT / TIMEKEEPING FROM MY SMARTPHONE?

Yes. AFTER May 12th the URL for timesheets from your smartphone will be https://cp-katmai.prd.mydeltekgcc.com/DeltekTouch/Costpoint/TE/

WILL MY COSTPOINT LOGIN STAY THE SAME AFTER THE MOVE?

Yes.  Your Costpoint/Timekeeping login will remain the same after the move.  For most people, however, that username and password is automatically saved in the current system.  That won’t be the case immediately after the move, however.  You will be asked to manually enter your username and password in the login fields the first time that you log in on the new cloud-based system.  Your username and password will be the same as before, which means that it will be your regular Katmai email username and password. If you don’t know what your Katmai email username and password are, please email IT support at support@katmaicorp.com.

WILL THE MOVE MEAN THAT COSTPOINT / TIMEKEEPING WILL LOOK AND WORK DIFFERENTLY FROM WHAT I’M USED TO?

No.  The migration to the cloud is expected to be “transparent” to the user.  No major changes to the interface and functionality of Costpoint are expected.
